The Brief

Bryan and Lesley had a much-loved tree they were determined to keep, despite it occupying much of the space needed for their new garden studio and store.

Following a site visit and careful consideration, we developed a bespoke design that recessed the store to preserve the tree without compromising the overall layout.

As the garden also sloped gently, we introduced a double-step feature across the front of the building, wrapping around to the store to create a practical and attractive entrance.

The completed studio is a great example of how thoughtful design can overcome a challenging brief without compromising the fi nished result.

The Outcome

By carefully recessing the store, we were able to preserve Bryan and Lesley’s much-loved tree while creating a balanced, practical design that sits naturally within the garden.

The double-step entrance responds to the gentle slope, giving the building an attractive and welcoming approach.

Bryan and Lesley’s carefully chosen interior fi nishes completed the space beautifully, creating a garden studio that feels both practical and timeless.

So we are really impressed and in love with our garden studio!

We had been considering a garden room for the last few years and did speak to a couple of companies that offered a nationwide service. None of them impressed us with their proposed designs or level of enthusiasm and so the idea never progressed.

We then found Henley Garden Buildings practically on our doorstep. The concept of a metal frame with composite cladding immediately appealed for it’s longevity, sturdiness and lack of ongoing maintenance. We made an appointment to meet Kevin and couldn’t be more happy with the service we received. His planning and attention to detail were fantastic. Every last detail was thought through and the schedule was communicated clearly and more importantly, adhered to precisely.

Building a garden room is an investment, but with Henley Garden Buildings we received an end product that we are truly delighted in. The installation team were hard working, tidy and a pleasure to speak to. At each stage we were given options and both Kevin and Luke went above and beyond to find additional samples of flooring and paint to get the finish just right. We are really pleased with the end result and the quality of the finish is excellent. Every part of the process was professionally managed right through to a formal handover at the end. Even the warranties for materials had been registered in our name giving us the confidence that this company is a company on top of their game.
