Fiona came to us with a clear vision: to replace a dilapidated 6 m × 5 m outbuilding at the top of her garden with a stunning bespoke garden annexe designed for family use.
Our first step was to visit the property, assess the available space, and take in the surrounding views to inspire the design and orientation. Although the footprint was compact, the potential was incredible, particularly with the beautiful open fields beyond the garden, which became the focal point for our design concept.
We worked closely with Fiona throughout the design process, ensuring every detail reflected her requirements while maximising the natural beauty of the setting.
The completed Garden Annexe is a beautifully balanced blend of elegance and practicality, a private sanctuary designed for Fiona’s family, perfectly nestled into its peaceful rural setting. From the outset, the structure was carefully considered to complement the landscape, with a discreet front elevation that includes a minimalist single door entrance, satin glass for privacy, and a small porch that creates a sense of quiet anticipation before stepping inside.
Once through the entrance, the open-plan layout reveals itself, combining living and sleeping space in one seamless flow, all oriented towards breathtaking countryside views. These are framed by French doors and fixed side panels, inviting the outdoors in and bathing the interior in natural light. A cleverly concealed en-suite is tucked away to ensure maximum privacy, while externally, its placement introduces a unique architectural detail, a striking side wall that subtly frames the surrounding scenery.
The annexe extends into outdoor living areas, starting with a charming bistro deck and leading onto a more generous 3m × 3m wrap-around platform, ideal for relaxed mornings with coffee or winding down in the evening air.
The exterior is finished in Argent composite cladding, enriched with matching slatted detailing to the canopy and side walls to introduce depth and texture. Coordinating Argent decking brings the whole design together, delivering a sleek and modern aesthetic that feels at home in its natural surroundings.
Internally, the space is fully equipped for year-round comfort, with a high-quality fitted kitchen, integrated heating, electrics, premium flooring, and a complete decorative finish, all ready to be enjoyed from the moment the keys were handed over.
The end result is everything Fiona hoped for: a refined, contemporary retreat that feels effortlessly at ease in its environment. It was a joy to bring this project to life, and we’re grateful to Fiona for placing her trust in us, we’re still in touch today and delighted that her family continues to enjoy this special space.
From the very first meeting, I was instantly put at ease by Kevin’s friendly, approachable, and professional manner. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered every one of my questions with clarity and confidence – his project knowledge was second to none.
The design stage was a genuinely collaborative process. I felt completely heard and involved throughout – nothing was pushed or ‘sold’ to me. As a woman, I’ve sometimes found these kinds of projects can feel a bit ovewhelming, but this was a totally different experience. Kevin and Jackie encouraged my ideas, listened thoughtfully, and offered considered guidance across every aspect. We worked together symbiotically to create a space that truly reflects what I wanted, including a beautifully planned bathroom layout tucked neatly at the rear of the building.
The planning process was seamless thanks to Kevin and Jackie’s partnership with NAPC. Everything was handled under the Mobile Home Act, and they managed the entire process for me – right through to the planning decision. I didn’t have to worry about a thing.
The build itself took place in the middle of winter, so could have been a challenge – but Barry and Luke were exceptional. They worked incredibly hard and followed the schedule of works precisely, just as outlined at the consultation stage. The site was always clean and well managed, with a portaloo arranged so there was no need for the team to enter my home. Kevin remained closely involved throughout and kept me informed every step of the way. The team were professional, polite, and a pleasure to have around.
The finished annexe is exactly what I hoped for – no nasty surprises, no hidden issues. Any minor snags were dealt with promptly and without hesitation. Even after completion, Kevin and Jackie have continued to stay in touch, making sure I’m still happy and offering support whenever I need it.
It’s been a completely positive experience from start to finish – I’d recommend them in a heartbeat.”
