The Brief

Stephen first contacted us looking for a small building to place in the corner of his garden as a multi-use space for storage or with the potential to be used as a summer house.  It was important that the building justified it’s costs.

We invited Stephen to visit our showsite in Henley in Arden and introduced him to our Signature Range Studios.  Stephen was immediately impressed with our luxury garden rooms and felt that he would certainly use the studio as a summer house rather than a shed for the lawn mower.

We asked Stephen to send over a few images of the space he would like the studio to sit in, which was to be in the corner of the garden.  The space lent itself very well to a 3m x 3m Rowington garden studio.

Stephen returned to the showsite, bringing his lovely wife Eileen, who certainly has a spark for colour and design.  It was such fun working with both of them on colour choices, internally and externally.  We absolutely loved the bold colours that Eileen chose for the inside.

The Result

Delivering great results is our aim with every Studio we build, the smaller studios, contrary to belief, often need additional attention to detail as they are usually being placed in restrictive areas or smaller spaces.  We feel it is important not to design anything bigger than is needed that could overwhelm a space.

In this instance, Stephen and Eileen’s beautifully manicured garden runs linear to the rear of their stunning Cotswold style home, making it imperative that the size and placement were right.

Our Rowington design with a canopy , side wall and deck fit perfectly into the end corner of the garden, looking out to the view, enhancing the experience whilst sitting inside.  We jointly decided to use Argent panel cladding to the wall with Spiced Oak slatted cladding canopy and wall finished with complimentary Spiced Oak decking.

Internally the credit for the stunning colours has to be given to Eileen, who chose two of Neptune’s vibrant shades, Rhubarb and Peppercorn, a large vase Eileen owned was inspiration for this.  We absolutely love it!

We hear that the studio has been named after a Heron came and landed on it in just after it was built, therefore this case study along with the studio just had to be called Herons Roost!

Stephen and Eileen, thank you so much not only for your hospitality with our team but also for sharing a lovely drink with us in your beautiful garden and home, it was such a lovely afternoon!

From the laying of the base to the final interior painting, we could not have asked for a more competent team

Our Garden Studio was an interesting project for us starting from the research we carried out; visits to various showrooms and much discussion amongst ourselves.

From our first visit to Henley Garden Buildings we were very much impressed by the product, it’s build, style and obvious quality.  Kevin was exceptionally communicative, knowledgeable and personable.  We discussed all aspects of the build and options available with him.

Kevin made a site visit to ensure we had chosen an appropriate building for our size and style of property.

At all stages of the preparation for the installation,  Kevin kept us fully appraised as to what was happening.  The team of fitters and associated contractors were all totally professional and their excellent work ethic clearly followed Kevin’s high expectations.

From the laying of the base to the final interior painting we could not have asked for a more competent team…..they were a pleasure to have working on our property.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Henley Garden Buildings, Kevin and his team.

To say that we are content with the result of the build would be an ‘understatement’
